Philosophy of Education

I believe Discovery Learning is the paramount Constructivist learning theory because learners apply their prior experiences and existing knowledge to inquire and discover new facts. Discovery Learning encourages active engagement, promotes motivation, autonomy, responsibility, and independence. Technology facilitates discovery learning.

I subscribe to the definition adopted by the Association for Educational Communication and Technology (AECT) which states: “the theory and practice of design, development, utilization, management and evaluation of process and resources for learning” (Seels & Richey, 1994, p. 129).
